The ideal of a society is its greatest asset. An ideal university should act as a builder of civilization and a promoter of knowledge. If universities remain faithful to their fundamental missions—research, education, innovation and technology, social and cultural services—and thereby nurture knowledgeable, wise, religious, law-abiding, and thoughtful citizens, their impact on solving social problems, fostering technological innovations, and ultimately improving people’s lives will be far greater than before.

A civilization-building university provides both the software and hardware foundations for the realization of a new Islamic civilization based on the Islamic-Iranian model. Achieving scientific authority and scientific diplomacy; advancing technology and innovation; fostering education, research, and purposeful outcomes; promoting cultural innovation and the culture of innovation; empowering students, technology, and innovation; and transforming knowledge into production, service, wealth, and capital—these constitute the five main priorities of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, which are currently central to the mission of the University of Mazandaran.
